What Kind of Artist Are You?

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Carter and Paul over at Crooked Gremlins posted this chart, claiming they are both on opposite sides of the spectrum.  I’m ashamed to say where I am on it.  Where are you?

Btw the creator of this chart is a comic artist / illustrator / assumedly graphic designer and I spent too long looking through the archive.  It’s now in not only the comics I read, but the 1st set right after lunch.  High praise indeed.  His site here.

PS If in some way Caldwell Tanner comes across this and is in any way inclined to send me a Falcon Lunch shirt, that would be great thanks.

If you ever have trouble picking a typeface, check out this handy flow chart that leads you through the process. It’s not just handy, it’s also really funny. “Everybody loves Garamond” and the like.

Also one on the trustworthiness of beards. Thanks to all the people who sent this in!

Since you like charts AND things that are funny…

This was sent in by one of your fellow Systemics, but I didn’t write down who Systemic Lionthetiger. Whomever it was, thanks muchly!

Seemingly by the same people that brought us Lost Cat / Problems with Designers comes this gem about a graphic designer, doing work for a client, and not getting paid. Again, told in emails:

Dear Simon,

Disregarding the fact that you have still not paid me for work I completed earlier this year despite several assertions that you would do so, I would be delighted to spend my free time creating logos and pie charts for you based on further vague promises of future possible payment. Please find attached pie chart as requested and let me know of any changes required.

Regards, David.

Don’t you want to go read it now? I’m sure you do. LINK »
