You should create a font: “designer’s nightmare.ttf” and distribute it.

In keeping w/tradition:
Comic Sans was created by Vincent Connare in 1994 for Microsoft. It was originally designed to be used with Microsoft Bob, but it was completed too late to be included in the program.
According to statements from Connare, he never intended the font to be released for general use, and only designed it to be used in comic-book-style speech bubbles within MS Bob.
The "Ban Comic Sans" movement started in 1999. It was reportedly started by Dave and Holly Crumbs, graphic designers from Indianapolis, after an employer insisted they use Comic Sans in a children's museum exhibit.
But, it still has its uses and I still like it (as long as it is used appropriately–and even I know when that s/b).
btw, let's hear it for GAP for seeing the error of its way and reverting back to serif instead of the hardly modern looking helvetica w/the strange blue box. (No offense to fans of helvetica intended.)

[...] any case, the discussion of kerning was brought up today by a friend of mine after I shared a comic on my Google Reader Share page. He didn’t understand kerning, or rather, he didn’t [...]

The second I read "we refuse to pay for it" I go blind for any kind of bad kerning.

After reading all about this k erning drama, I’m left with only a residual impression that there are about two and a half billion Chinese and me that really just don’t give a damn. Could someone please pass me the peas?

Replying with my WordPress login, Robert (above) in the unlikely event anyone reading this cares about my opinion.
