The System 398: Being Productive

What are all your daily rituals? Do you take breaks from your breaks? Sometimes, they can be a little much if they aren’t broken up.

People don't need Twitter. Ross, you weren't busy.

Man… I feel the same way. I get over 1500 different RSS posts, as well as my busy life working full time, going to school, and trying to keep up with video games. I know that I spend just as much time on the fun parts as I do the work bits, but I still feel like I have no time to do anything!

My morning ritual is wake up, shower, quickly check the interwebs, get dressed, then go to work. When I get home, I surf forums and read comics.
I should try to be more productive.

I enjoy Facebook and various Zynga games in the morning, followed by Twitter and then online news, followed by the webcomics I had missed the previous night. After work, it is another round of Facebook and webcomics and then finally my own writings. I like to put my priorities in the proper order.

Every morning, check the latest subscribed vids on Youtube, then (depending on the day), check the latest webcomic. Then in the afternoon I watch a vid or two on The Escapist, check my twitter and check again for more vids.

That's the most productive stuff you could possibly do, maybe eating s/b included to give you energy to be that productive.

I always hit you (well, not actually hit YOU) first thing. Then check the e-mails (if there aren't any jokes waiting for me, I wonder why I even bother, unless I get something from you–those I read first, of course).

Then there is all the other stuff and then it's off to do stuff. Oh, and gotta check the news.

109 daily webcomics, 71 weeklies-or-greater, but about half are inactive. All in a folder that's been called rituals since before the towers fell.

The Firefox sidebar add-on yoono brings my comics, social networks, and instant messaging to me. I open my browser, see what's going on in Internet World, say hi to the sister, read my emails. I used to use the Morning Coffee add-on, but yoono seems more concise. My home page is a MyYahoo! page that aggregates 50 recent posts from about 300 RSS news, design, and science sites so I can feel "up to date" without having to browse through everything. Oh, yeah, then I check Craigslist to see if anyone has an awesome car I want.

I have 5 things I always have running (thank you firefox app tabs!!)
Facebook (I only occasionally check for notifications thought I don't use it much, I'm not evil.
    Twitter (DUH)
    Grooveshark (gotta have music)
    Tumblr (I'm such a whore.)
    Google Reader (BOOYA)
