The System 374: Scariest Thing About Facebook
UPDATE: Here’s today’s comic on Digg. If you liked it, vote it!
A hand to Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi, who constantly encourages me to make mechas. Also, thanks to Slashdot to alerting me of Zuckerberg’s recent birthday (as well as his securities fraud investigation).
This seems like a great chance to invite you all to discuss how much you hate/love/loathe Facebook, it’s practices, and how creepy it is these days. I had someone know my cell # on his phone because we were friends on Facebook (my # used to be listed) and that’s about when I knew they were SkyNet.
If you don’t like Facebook, try a new social network! It’s changing the way… Oh Christ, forget it.

I think a great many people at this point might think, "Don't trust any billionaires who are 1 year over 25". Bill Gates didn't become a billionaire until the ripe old age of 32. What does that tell you? Beats me.
Maybe it's because of his age (no disrespect intended to those of you 20-somethings) that Facebook keeps changing the items it keeps allowing you to include in your Info depending on when you join. Seems it's a rather capricious way of doing things.
When I looked up Mark in Facebook I didn't find any real Info in his Info. Could it be that he doesn't feel that confident in its Privacy?
Anyway, depending on your point of view, guess we should/should not wish him a Happy Birthday and I recommend trying to post some message on his Wall (I couldn't see any way to do that, but I'm sure one of you Systemics will find a way.)
.
Guess I would run just because who knows what he has in mind for all of us Facebook people out there.

The problem is not facebook, we let it happen. People should just stop using it, instead of complainin about it. We have free will

Zuckerberg is a douche and a criminal.
Hope his next birthday is spent behind bars.
Karma is a bitch.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others… the rest have facebook.

Here's a thought–Did you know that there are people who aren't on Facebook who still manage to communicate w/other people. And, can still "friend" other people the old-fashioned way–actually "talk" to them, or write (well, e-mail) them.
Interesting thought.
Somehow we all survived before Facebook. Anybody remember those days?

This is an aside, but I thought I'd mention it due to Ross not alluding to it on the site. Rosscott did the guest spot on today's Happiness and Cyanide!
Definitely one of the wittier ones I've seen there in a bit.
It's a guilty pleasure people!

Thanks for the invite. I like Facebook. It shortens my work load when I get curious about somebody. It's pretty work intensive to find what school they went to and check the alumni records to find out what city they live in, and then the wedding listings of the paper of that city to find out what their new last name is so it is easier to find them in the phone book so I can give them a call and wonder if they want to go to the park for coffee when I'm in town next? And then what if they're not listed in one of those places? I have to take more extreme "finding" measures.
Yeah, Facebook makes it easier.
