I think tripling meanings is a good idea. Perhaps though, it would be better to have the word indicate the meanings or the dictionary would be impossible to negotiate (not that 1/2 the words now are in the dictionary).
So how about hamsqlel for hamburger/squirrel/falafel. Yeah, I admit you would need to learn new pronunciation guidelines, but it would save on defining words.
It sounds like the future needs to enact useful languages like Newspeak to limit its numerous words. At first it is ungood, but after a while is doubleplusgood.
