And that's how the general public will generally feel.
Well, I must say I have hardly an opinion on it. If Ikea feels they need to change their appearance, by all means, do so. If they feel they need the Verdana font, who am I to disagree. Not like I bought anything there anyway :p

The real issue is how they are listed as a nonprofit, they use so much wood each year, and produce affordable products that, sadly, often end up in the dump within a few short years.

Actually, after looking at both, I like Verdana much better. It is a very clean look (but what do I know?) Bet all you web designers care and will discuss this at your favorite "watering hole".

The most important thing to me is that they don't raise the prices because of the font change.

Nice. I am finding it hard to care myself. But this also makes me ashamed, because I am a designer.

While I have no opinion on this matter, I can sympathize with the feeling of being deeply involved with something no one around you seems to care about.

As long as it's not Papyrus or (god forbid) Comic Sans!

    Yeah, jeez.

[...] What’s made in Flash?  What is it on the web that such users are missing out on?  I asked RossMom if she knew what Flash was one time, and she asked me “you mean on the camera?”  I explained that I meant on the computer, and she had no idea what I was talking about. Her and the millions of casual users out there like her just want things to work, they don’t care if it’s a crazy glitzy website for a movie or a video embedded on a website.  Reminds me of the whole Ikea changing their font thing.
