1. The layers of grime protect the paint. 
 
2. People assume shiny cars are afraid of dings. 
 
Goes back to something I learned early as a newspaper photographer shooting hostile folks: you can bluff folks who have something to lose. 
 
What you want to avoid are poor folks who have lots of scars. They aren&#039;t afraid of being sued and they have found that you can be hurt and survive. THOSE folks you take seriously. </description>
