Graphic Design pr0n

A few design things, in brief since I’ve fallen behind on posting the oddness I find.  Speaking of the oddness I find, feel free to send me stuff YOU find that you think I’ll like!  systemcomic (at) gmail (dot) com.  Btw, I’m pretty sure that Systemic Jen sent me or posted at least one of these, so I’m just gonna give her credit for the whole set.

A site featuring the evolution of many logos you know and love.  Link.

You know all those ads / videos that have type spelling out what’s being said and it all flies in all fast and stuff?  Yeah, that’s kinda jumped the shark.  Link.

A page full of fun and creative 404 errors.  I should do one of those!  Link.

My coworker Susan pointed me to this little gem.  Models made from book covers!  Link.

System in the Wild: Chicks Rule Edition

Systemic David (from Infendo.com fame) sends a link to this beauty.  A wall calender trying (in vain I might add) to capture my “unique style”.  If it’s true that “g-d is in the details” then these guys are atheists (see what I did there?).  Link.

Two People Who Are Not Me

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

My google alerts are a funny thing.  They tell me a little bit about myself, but a lot more about other people.  Here are two people that Google thinks I am (or would otherwise like to know about):

Apparently there is a UFC fighter who shares my last name (I try to just keep things to my first name on the site but you get the idea).  He needs to stop coming up in my Google alerts, no matter how well he’s doing.  No, I’m not related.  I come from a long line of non-ass-kickers.

UK Baroness Ros Scott.  She has just been elected president of the Liberal Democrats and is a member of the House of Lords.  She has a blog (”Because Baronesses are People Too”), and even her own official website.  As a political figure, I wonder if she or any of her aides have run across my workings under the name “Rosscott“.  I am sometimes more popular than her on the Internets (confound her and her blog for beating me in Google)!  Still, she has a wiki and I do not.

You Have to Burn the Rope

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

(Thanks to Systemic Melissa)  Yup, it really is that simple.  The music during and especially at the end of the game is amazing.  If you can get me a copy of the ending theme, please do.  Link.

UPDATE:  Thanks, Chris for posting that link!  Also, hello to Is It Funny Today shoppers.  Accidently posted this as the wrong kind of post, so it showed up as a “comic” for a brief time.  I know it’s not funny.
