Yes, there is going to be a reality TV show about graphic design. CMYK America’s Top Graphic Designer. This could be very good or very bad. I’m guessing very bad. It is also a bad sign that their site has a javascript error at the top. Also, their logo looks like crap. Probably not appealing to working graphic designers but to people with desktop publishing software who fancy themselves as designers because they were “always artistic growing up”. from the looks of the error it's not javascript, but asp or .net. just looks like someone forgot something :p
anyway, after America's Next Top Model and stupid shows like that I really don't think this'll be a worthy show. Like you said, probably going to be full of amateurs that fancy themselves designers, because they know how to boot up photoshop or something.

It's interesting as to where they're hunting for talent, with stops in Atlanta and Charlotte. Those two cities are about 4 hours away from each other, but is there really that much talent in Charlotte to cast there and not make them go to Atlanta? Meanwhile, the Washington and Baltimore area is left with the 7-hour drive to Charlotte, or the 4-hour drive to New York (well, probably bus ride, as driving into NYC isn't really feasible).
